Stays abroad during studies

Electrical Engineering and Information Technology students have a wide range of study abroad options available to them. The Union of the Institutes of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is happy to advise you if you are looking to fund your stay abroad via the EU program ERASMUS+.

General information

It is recommended to visit the student webpage of the International Office or attend one of their information sessions to get an initial overview of the programs, as well as how to apply and what funding is available.

You should inform yourself about the opportunities available as early in your university studies as possible, because the application deadlines for most scholarships are roughly a year to a year and a half before the start of the stay abroad. It is generally possible to apply to study abroad as part of your master's degree program while still studying for your bachelor’s degree.

Advice from the department

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology also provides students with advice on planning a stay abroad as well as answers to any subject-specific questions. Among other things, this includes questions on how to integrate the study abroad into a student’s university studies at the University of Stuttgart or on the formalities of getting examinations passed abroad recognized.
