Excellent support for new students

The University of Stuttgart scores top results in the CHE University Ranking

The University of Stuttgart has once more been praised for its support for new students in the latest Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) university ranking, which was published a few days ago in the ZEIT guide to student life 2021/22: In the categories "support for new students", the subjects architecture, electrical engineering and information technology, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, process engineering and materials engineering/material sciences were all placed in the top group.

In terms of university study programs, the subjects of architecture, civil engineering, and aerospace engineering achieved top rankings in the category "Master's degrees completed in a reasonable amount of time", thus improving on the last CHE ranking for these subjects in 2019. Architecture also improved in the category "Bachelor's degrees completed in a reasonable amount of time" and is now also in the top group in this category. Furthermore, the architecture study program was also praised by students for its teaching, examination organization and the IT infrastructure.

The subjects electrical engineering and information technology also achieved a top place in the category "Contact with professional practice in the master's program" and they were also received top marks from students for laboratory equipment and library facilities.

In the field of research, the subjects civil engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, and process engineering achieved top rankings in the category "doctorates per professor". Aerospace engineering also received a top ranking for research funds per scientist

The CHE University Ranking surveys approximately 120,000 students and more than 300 universities, universities of applied science, and universities of cooperative education, making it the most comprehensive and detailed university comparison in German-speaking countries. The subjects assessed this year were: engineering sciences, languages and cultural studies, and psychology. In these subject areas, the university offers study programs in architecture, civil engineering, electrical engineering and information technology, educational science, German studies, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, romance studies, environmental engineering, process engineering, materials engineering/material sciences.
