Hungarian students from University of Debrecen visiting Campus Vaihingen

April 22, 2026 / ISP-Faculty 5

Hungarian students discovering University of Stuttgart and its faculties.

What does the University of Stuttgart stand for? What is it like to study here as an international student? What research projects are students and professors exploring in the fields of electrical engineering and aerospace engineering?

A group of Hungarian students wanted to look into these questions and therefore visited the University of Stuttgart on April 14 and 15.

The eight electrical engineering bachelor’s students are enrolled at the University of Debrecen. With around 28,000 students, the University of Debrecen is one of the largest institutions of higher education in Hungary and plays a leading role in research and education in Eastern Hungary.

At the start of their visit, the group received an introduction to Stuttgart and the surrounding region from the Baden-Württemberg International (BW_i) state agency.

The next day, the group was welcomed on Vaihingen Campus. The International Service Point (ISP) of Faculty 5: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Information Technology organized a manifold program in collaboration with the International Center (IZ) and Faculty 6: Aerospace Engineering and Geodesy. In addition to a general introduction to the university and campus life, the guests received numerous insights. By visiting institutes and laboratories, attending a lecture, experience experiments firsthand, they learned more about study and research at the two faculties. Particularly interesting were the conversations with international students and doctoral candidates at USTUTT.

A campus tour provided an opportunity for the visitors to get an idea of the campus and to have chat. A big thank you to our Faculty 5 master’s students, Justice Aluu and Pranav Singh, who looked after the group very well. The program ended at the university’s MakerSpace. The Hungarian students were impressed by the opportunities students have at the University of Stuttgart to bring their own creative projects to life.

Student Zalán Fehér, initiator and organizer of the study trip:

“During our visit to the university in Stuttgart, we had the opportunity to experience the academic atmosphere of an internationally recognized institution and learn more about its educational and research activities. The modern laboratories, innovative projects, and the welcoming attitude of both students and professors made a strong impression on us. This visit was inspiring and motivating, and it provided valuable insight into international academic and professional opportunities.”
