To know a bit of German helps a lot to get around as an international student in Stuttgart, to get in contact with new people, prospective employers and to learn about the culture and way of life of the Swabians in the German Southwest.
In the coming semester, Faculty 5 will therefore again offer additional German language courses for its international Master's students in collaboration with the Language Center. These courses take place during the semester.
For students of the Master’s programs M.Sc. Computational Linguistics, M.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. INFOTECH and M.Sc. Electrical Engineering (EENG), the following six course levels are available: A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.2, B1.1. and B1.2.
The courses are voluntary, free of charge and will be held online once a week (course start: October 19, 2026).
It is mandatory to register in advance for these courses. Please register during the official registration period, which runs from October 5 - 13, 2026 via C@mpus (first come, first serve). If you miss the first two sessions, you will be automatically de-registered from the course.
Please note that registration for a language course is considered a commitment to attend. Students who do not attend or complete a course without a valid reason and without informing the instructor in advance may be excluded from registering for future language courses. If you know in advance that you will not be able to attend the course for an important reason, simply unregistering from the course in C@mpus is not sufficient. Please also inform the instructor by email as early as possible so that your place can be offered to another student.
Important! Please register for only one course at a time, as each course involves a certain amount of (home) work and learning a new language can be very time-consuming.
