In the second week of March, a delegation from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology visited our Vietnamese partner university.
In addition to discussions and exchanges with colleagues at VGU, top-class events took place. The highlight of the visit was the "MEE Orientation Event" on Friday, March 15.
The Deutsches Haus in Ho Chi Minh City, a place that promotes economic relations and exchange between Vietnam and Germany and is also home to the German Consulate, served as a worthy setting for the event.
In exciting presentations, company representatives from South Asia provided insights into future opportunities in the fields of communications engineering and microelectronics, semiconductor technology and IC design. Students interested in the new double degree course "Master's program in Electrical Engineering - Communications Engineering" were invited as participants. This double Master's program is the result of a cooperation between the University of Stuttgart and the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Prof. Jan Hesselbarth and Internationalization Manager Virginie Herbasch presented the new double Master´s program at an information event at VGU. Of course, the presentations and discussions also covered student life in Stuttgart and, above all, the support of all contact persons for future students. The students gained an insight into the subject matter at Prof. Hesselbarth's seminar on "Microwave Dielectrics".
Dr. Udo Klein, Program Coordinator at VGU, emphasizes: "These were enriching days full of knowledge exchange and strengthening the partnership. We look forward to continuing our fruitful collaboration with the University of Stuttgart!
A return visit to Stuttgart is planned for fall 2024, on the occasion of Faculty 5's "International Days".
