The Collection

Computermuseum at the Department of Computer Science

The collection of the Computer Museum includes mechanical calculators, electronic desktop calculators and pocket calculators, analog computers, minicomputers, personal and home computers, measuring devices, and development systems.

The Computer Museum showcases the fascinating 400-year history of computers, starting with Wilhelm Schickard's calculating machine and ending with the microprocessors of the 1970s. Among them is probably the oldest computer still in use in Germany: the LGP-30.

Many disused devices found their way into the Computer Museum. There they were lovingly restored and made "runnable" again. The collection includes:

  • electronic pocket calculators
  • analog computer
  • minicomputer
  • personal and home computers
  • single board computer / teaching computer
