One semester in England

Mira spent her stay abroad at Exeter University in England. Here she talks about her experiences.

What would you tell a student from our department who wants to study at the same host university as you next year?

Use the time to explore the Cornish countryside and go swimming in the sea at least once! It is most beautiful in the summer, but the winter semester is also very worthwhile. It is important to look for accommodation in time and not to underestimate the workload at the university.

Can you share some impressions with us?

A particular highlight was the excursion to Exmoor National Park as part of the Renewable Energy Engineering module. All students in the module spent several days in a remote energy self-sufficient youth hostel and then worked on a study to supply the hostel with renewable energy. The field trip was characterized by hands-on work and allowed the course to become a great team.

If you had the chance to describe your stay in some keywords, what would they be?

Change of perspective, intercultural exchange and many new friends!
