All graduates of the B.Sc. Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik, M.Sc. Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik, M.Sc. Electrical Engineering, M.Sc. Sustainable Electrical Energy Supply, M.Sc. Electromobility, M.Sc. Infotech (Master's thesis in EI-department) and M.Sc. Autonomous Systems (Master's thesis in EI-department) who graduated between 01.04.2024 and 31.03.2025 are invited.
The registration link for the 2025 graduation ceremony is expected to be sent via email to all graduates along with the invitation in April, and it will also be posted on this website.
Please note that due to restrictions at the venue this year, it is only possible to bring either a maximum of 2 family members or 1 companion.

Processed data categories
Apart from the data we visibly collect during the registration process, we take photos and videos during the event.
Purpose of data processing and possible consequences of failure to provide personal data
Personal data are processed in order to carry out and confirm your registration for the event and to organize and conduct the event, including any directly related follow-up work. It will not be passed on to third parties.
Data marked as mandatory are required in order to conclude a contract. The registration for and participation in the event are not possible without the mandatory data.
Photos and videos of the event are used for information about the event on the website of the University of Stuttgart, of the department of the electrical engineering and information technology and in press releases.
In accordance with relevant legal regulations, we can take the following photos without your consent and use them for public relations work:
Photos
- depicting public figures with an influence on contemporary history
- where people only appear as accessories next to landscapes or other sites,
- showing assemblies, parades or similar events and the nature of the respective event which the persons depicted took part in.
For all other photos, you will be asked for consent individually during registration process. Refusing to give consent does not have any negative consequences.
Legal basis
- For carrying out and confirming the registration and for organizing and conducting the event, including directly related follow-up work: Art. 6 paragraph 1(e) in conjunction with Art. 6 paragraph 3 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in conjunction with section 12 of the act on the higher education institutions in the Land of Baden-Württemberg (LHG BW). Voluntary information: Art. 6 paragraph 1(a) GDPR.
- For the list of participants and invitations: Art. 6 paragraph 1(a) GDPR
- For photos depicting the nature of the event (overview photos): Art. 6 paragraph 1(e) in conjunction with Art. 6 paragraph 3 GDPR in conjunction with section 12 LHG BW
- In case of other photos, you will be asked for your consent in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1(a) GDPR.
Recipients
- Of your first name and last name: finance department of the University of Stuttgart for the purpose of balancing catering invoices.
- Of your e-mail address internal university members responsible for the organization of events if you gave consent during the registration to receive invitations.
- Of your first name and last name and your company name: other participants of the event if you gave consent during the registration that the respective data (excluding phone number and e-mail address) may be included in the list of participants.
- Of photos: worldwide users of online and print media.
- Furthermore, legal regulations regarding archiving must be observed and documents must be offered to the university archive before erasure. The university ar-chive decides whether documents are transferred to the archive or not.
Duration of storage
- As a rule, data are deleted when the event is concluded and any directly related follow-up work has been completed (approximately one to two months after the last day of the event).
- This does not include your first name and last name as they are needed to balance catering invoices and therefore stored for ten years according to financial regula-tions.
- Photos are deleted 1 year after the event at the latest. In case a photo was subject to your consent, the photo will be deleted immediately in case you withdraw your given consent.
- Documents may be transferred to the respective university archive and are usually stored indefinetly.
Your rights
- You have the right to obtain information about personal data stored by the department of the electrical engineering and information technology and the right to have false data rectified.
- You also have the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing and the right to object to the processing.
- In case you gave consent to data processing, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before its withdrawal.
- Furthermore, in case you gave consent to data processing, you have the right to obtain the personal data that you provided to the university in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You can demand to have these data transmitted directly to another controller.
