Honor for outstanding achievements - Professor Stefan Tenbohlen is elevated to the status of IEEE Fellow of class 2023

At the 2022 November meeting of the IEEE Board of Directors, Prof. Stefan Tenbohlen was appointed IEEE Fellow as from 2023, with the accompanying citation: „for contributions to leadership in power Transformer reliability”.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has around 400,000 members and is the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. The highest level of membership - IEEE Fellow - is achieved through nomination by other Fellows and subsequent recognition by the Board of Directors.

The IEEE Fellow is one of the most prestigious honors of the IEEE and is bestowed upon a very limited number of Senior Members who have contributed importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science and technology bringing significant value to our society.

Professor Tenbohlen was appointed as Director of the Institute for Power Transmission and High Voltage Technology at the University of Stuttgart in 2004. His fields of research are high-voltage technology, electrical power transmission and electromagnetic compatibility. His research focuses on increasing the reliability of components of the electrical grids. He has published more than 600 scientific articles. Prof. Tenbohlen is a member of numerous national and international expert committees.
