Mentoring program for EENG Master’s students with a new focus

March 28, 2024 / ISP

The International Office is continuing its mentoring program for M.Sc. Electrical Engineering, which was launched last semester and recently adjusted to support new Electrical Engineering students even better.

In winter semester 2023/24, the University's International Office launched a new version of the subject-specific mentoring program for the Master's study program Electrical Engineering. For the upcoming summer semester, the concept has been revised in collaboration with the International Service Point of Faculty 5 in order to provide students with even better support.

In future, leisure activities and exchange opportunities especially designed for newly enrolled first-semester EENG students will be created. Student mentors will support these new students in an informal setting to help them settle in and find their ways at our university and in Stuttgart.

The mentoring concept is intended to serve as a possible blueprint for other international study programs at the university, in which, like the M.Sc Electrical Engineering, the majority of students come from abroad.

What is MentorEENG?

MentorEENG is a group mentoring program open to all first-semester students (mentees) of the English-language Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering. The mentees are supervised by a total of 3-4 student mentors from the third semester (or higher) of the same degree program.

The focus lies on leisure activities and network meetings, which serve to discuss questions among fellow students and support first-year students in organizing their studies. The events take place in the first few months of their studies and offer new students a good opportunity to get to know fellow students, exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere and receive helpful tips from experienced students.

To participate, no registration is needed. All newly enrolled students of the M.Sc. Electrical Engineering are very welcome to join.
