Last week during the final workshop of the EU-Japan project ThoR the first bi-directional terahertz point-to-point link has been successfully demonstrated. Intended as a backhaul link for future mobile radio applications, it delivers an aggregated net data rate of 40 Gbit/s over a distance of 160 meters.
