Prof. Küsters honors many names

Standing in for the Dean of Studies, Prof. Dr. Ralf Küsters was able to call out no fewer than 378 names on October 30, 2022. Each one represents a successful degree, awarded between January 2021 and the end of March 2022 at the Department of Computer Science. Regardless of whether they hold a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree–thanks to their qualifications, all graduates are now ideally equipped to tackle the societal challenges of the future.

Equipped for meaningful challenges

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Miriam Schulte addressed these in her lecture "Computer Science and the Computer Scientist", but did not dwell on clichés for long. Rather, the researcher addressed how informatics approaches can answer the currently pressing questions about climate, health and distributive justice.

It is clear that there is no lack of meaningful jobs for Stuttgart's alumni. This is especially true for the best graduates of the year awarded by the Informatik-Forum Stuttgart e.V. (infos). In a smaller group, infos chairman Prof. Dr. Erhard Plödereder predicted careers in coveted board positions for them.

Woodwind quartet offers musical congratulations

The ceremonial honoring in lecture hall 48.01 was framed by performances of the woodwind quartet of the University of Stuttgart, consisting of Clemens Dorda (flute), Frank Sattler (clarinet), Markus Kloos (horn), Enno Baars (bassoon). Finally, the subsequent champagne reception provided an opportunity for informal discussions and networking.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our graduates once again from the Bachelor's programs in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Media Informatics, Data Science and Computer Language Processing as well as from the Master's programs in Autonomous Systems, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Informatics and Software Engineering on their graduation. We wish all the best for their future careers and hope to stay in touch in the future.

Department and infos stay in touch with alumni

A membership in the Informatik-Forum Stuttgart e. V. (infos) offers an ideal opportunity for future information and meetings beyond the studies. At the same time, contacts to industry and business as well as to friends and supporters of computer science in Stuttgart are established and expanded.

Finally, sincere thanks are due to the Informatik-Forum Stuttgart e. V. (infos) for their generous support and cooperation in organizing this graduation event.
